We had an absolutely incredible 3-night, 4-day safari experience with Wilpattu Safari (WP). From start to finish, the entire trip was seamless and well-organized, but what truly made it unforgettable was our amazing crew. A massive thank you to our driver, Nadun, and our guide, KD (KayDee). Their combined professionalism, deep knowledge, and passion for wildlife were outstanding. Nadun is an exceptionally skilled driver who navigated the rugged park terrain smoothly and with a sharp eye for spotting hidden wildlife. He always managed to position his Toyota Land Cruiser perfectly for photos while keeping a respectful distance to the animals. KD is a phenomenal guide. He shared fascinating insights about the park's ecosystem, birds, and mammals, making every game drive both educational and exciting. Thanks to their combined dedication and teamwork, we had some breathtaking wildlife sightings. During the three days in the park, we saw five individual leopards, slender grey loris, brown fish owl, mongooses, crocs, numerous birds, including kingfishers, eagles, hawks, and kites, and so much more. If you are planning a trip to Wilpattu, we highly recommend booking with Wilpattu Safari and asking for Nadun and KD. They truly went above and beyond to make our 4 days in the wilderness perfect! During our stay, we were based at the Panikkarawila Bungalow inside the park. A huge thanks goes out to the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) staff managing the bungalow. Their hospitality was wonderful, and the tea and food they prepared was absolutely delicious! A final shout-out to Sachi, WP’s coordinator, who handled all the logistics flawlessly, including pick-up and transfer to our next destination.

We did a full day safari with Mindaka as our guide. He is such a professional, who has turned his hobby as a wildlife photographer into his career. Mindaka is very knowledgeable and is very dedicated when it comes to finding wildlife. We had a very skilled driver who got us around very efficiently but made you feel safe all the time. Breakfast and lunch were very tasty. Truly an amazing day!

I booked to stay inside the DCL bungalows and organised the driver / guide / chef etc with this company. From start to finish it has been amazing. The communication over Watsapp was extremely helpful in answering all my questions, once booked I didn’t need to do a thing and we were really taken care of from start to finish. We had a Driver - Pasindu, a Ranger - Ruchira And a Naturalist - Mindaka. All 3 are absolutely brilliant at their jobs and have the eyes of hawks! We seen every animal on the list, multiple times. Even if we didn’t, I would still award 5 stars as They clearly care about the park / animals and even though they do this every day, they still get as excited and eager to see leopard as us. They truly went out of their way to make sure we had a good view of the animals but show respect to the animals by giving space / trying to avoid multiple jeeps. Mindaka sat with us throughout the safari sharing stories / facts and information about the park and the animals which was very interesting. He knows them very well and knows the leopards by name. His English is perfect so it was easy communication and in general he’s a nice person and very easy to talk to. The bungalow its self was well worth it and I am so glad we booked it, it made the experience. I read a couple of negative reviews about the bungalow and was worried at first, but it is a bungalow in the middle of a national park, built with the idea of minimal human disruption. So of course it’s not a luxury stay, it is an adventure base where you can observe creatures and be in nature. There are birds / crocs / cats lurking in the area, it is fantastic. The beds are comfy , clean and you get given a toiletry box on arrival. The chef cooked us some of the best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka. It was a really great experience from start to finish, made better by the staff. Thank you 🙂

Janith (Jani) and driver Madu were amazing! Madu had an eagle eye for spotting animals and reading leopard tracks and Jani was knowledgeable and great company throughout the trip. We stayed overnight in Wilpattu - a bit daunting at first but when we woke up at 5.30am the next morning and realised where we were, was a truly serene and uplifting experience. The bungalow manager was a decent cook and made us a hearty Sri Lankan breakfast. Wilpattu is a quite magical place and these guys were the best guides we could have hoped for, full of knowledge and respectful of the wildlife.

We did a full day safari and an evening safari, and we honestly couldn’t be happier. We started with the night safari, led by their night-spotting specialist — absolutely fascinating. We were able to see snakes, lizards, and even lorises. We had dinner at one of the night watch posts where local farmers stay to protect their crops from elephants, and they explained to us how everything works. It felt authentic, respectful, and eye-opening. The full day safari was simply spectacular. We saw so many animals, including three different leopards — and two of those sightings were completely exclusive to us, thanks to the incredible skill of our driver and our guide Mindaka. He is not only extremely experienced, but also an amazing wildlife photographer. At the end of the day, he shared the photos he took (see the pictures), and they are just breathtaking. Many people that day only saw one leopard; we saw three, with private and respectful encounters. Also, a special mention to Sachi, who organized everything for us online smoothly and efficiently. The whole team is a solid 10/10. Highly recommended — an unforgettable experience.

Wildlife Tour 24 Nights 25 Days - All Inclusive

It was fantastic. We covered four national parks in Sri Lanka. We saw leopards in all of them almost every day, multiple leopards. Mindaka is the best leopard finder, I think, perhaps in the world. But we also had a great time, saw many other things. Lots of photos came out of it. So wonderful experience. Highly recommend to anyone in the world.
