Wilpattu National Park

Wilpattu National Park is Sri Lanka’s largest and one of its oldest national parks, renowned for its untouched wilderness, scenic natural lakes known as villus, and exceptional wildlife diversity. The park is one of the best places in the world to observe the elusive Sri Lankan leopard in its natural habitat, while also supporting healthy populations of sloth bears, Asian elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, water buffalo, mugger crocodiles, jackals, and over 230 bird species, including many endemic birds.
